District Magistrate Orders Swift BharatNet Expansion and 4G Tower Rollout Across Remote Kapkot Regions

During the meeting, the District Magistrate instructed Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited officials to commence work without delay in the Kapkot region. She ordered that the installation of 4G mobile towers in Bhanar, Baisani, Badet, Kanyalikot, and Pousari areas must be completed within three months. She further directed that survey work in Chorakhadk be completed at the earliest through coordination with the Tehsil Administration.

Expressing strong displeasure over repeated complaints of poor network connectivity from various regions, the District Magistrate demanded accountability from telecom authorities. The concerned Junior Telecom Officer, Gaurav Tadagi, was instructed to submit a detailed report within three days explaining the reasons behind disrupted network services and to ensure immediate corrective action for restoring and improving telecom connectivity.

The District Magistrate also instructed representatives of private telecom operators, including Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel, to examine the feasibility of establishing mobile towers in remote and network-deficient areas of the district, thereby expanding digital access to underserved populations.

During the session, Junior Telecom Officer Gaurav Tadagi informed the committee that under Phase Two of the BharatNet project, work orders have already been issued for 119 gram panchayats in the Kapkot region, marking a significant step toward comprehensive rural digital connectivity.

The meeting was attended by Chief Development Officer R C Tiwari, Additional District Magistrate N S Nabiyaal, and other concerned officials, underscoring a coordinated administrative effort aimed at strengthening communication infrastructure across the district’s most remote regions.
